The New Eight (8) Natural Wonders of the World

UNESCO's World Heritage List add its list of the New Wonders of the World.


1. Surtsey Island, Iceland. Volcanic formed island. Natural Reserve.


2. Mount Sangingshan Natural Park, China. Array of forest and granite pillars.


3. Monarch Butterfly Biosphere, Mexico. Found in Oyamel Fir Forest where millions of monarch butterflies in cluster pack.
4. Sardona Tectonic Arena, Switzerland. Old rocks over 200 years sits above the younger rock formations.

5. Joggins Fossil Cliffs, Canada. Fossil Record of Terrestial Life over 300 million years old.

6. Saryarka, Kazakhstan. Undisturbed area of Central Asian Steppe and lakes in Korgalzhyn and Naurzum.


7. Socotra Archipelago, Yemen. The Galapagos of the Indian Ocean where about 700 flora and fauna species not found anywhere else in the world.


8. New Caledonia, Australia. Tropical lagoons and coral reefs. The most extensive reef system of the world.
